Message from the Treasurer

In an effort to protect the health of our customers and staff, we ENCOURAGE you to use our online payment system to pay your property taxes or renew your vehicle registrations. The fee for an e-check is only $0.25.  The web address is www.iowatreasurers.org (select FIND MY COUNTY) select MAHASKA. If you need assistance making the payment please send an email to treasurer@mahaskacounty.org or contact our office at 641-673-5482.

If you pay by mail and would like a receipt you may:

1) include your email address with your payment, we will gladly email your receipt to you.

2) use your check as your receipt.

3) include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment, we would then mail you a receipt.

If you are purchasing or transferring a vehicle, we encourage you to call our office at 641-673-4618.  If you have access to a scanner and email, we will request you email us a copy of the title to haworth@mahaskacounty.org, gilliland@mahaskacounty.org or powless@mahaskacounty.org. You may also go to www.iowadot.gov, select forms (see form numbers listed below).  We will calculate the fees for you so you may mail your title, completed forms, and payment to the Mahaska County Treasurers office at 106 S. 1st Street, Oskaloosa IA  For those that do not have access to a scanner or email, please call our office at 641-673-4618 and we will set up an appointment for you at the Mahaska County Courthouse Annex building’s drive-thru window, located at 301 1st Ave East, Oskaloosa, IA.  We are making appointments from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

We encourage you to pay your property tax by mail, or online at www.iowatreasurers.org.  There is also currently a drop box located in the courthouse lobby.  If you need the amount due, please contact our office at 673-5482, or email treasurer@mahaskacounty.org.  If paying by e-check you will need your receipt number.

We also encourage you to pay your vehicle renewal by mail, or online at www.iowatreasurers.org.  Please review your vehicle statement and renew only the vehicles that you still own.  There is currently a drop box located in the courthouse lobby.
